Course Description

CBT: This is the beginning of your motorcycling career, the course is all about the basics of learning to ride, equipment and basic maintenance, controls of the machine and how to ride on the road. If you wish to either pass your “Motorcycle test” or ride up to a 125cc bike on plates (for 2 years or you have to renew CBT). Then you have to complete and obtain a CBT certificate (DL196). The CBT course itself is based on a day’s tuition, however if we feel you need longer to reach a safe standard then there is no further charges it’s all included in the price as is bike and equipment hire.

MODULE 1 Test: This is the first test and is completed in an off road environment and takes approx 15 minutes. This covers a series slow riding exercises and 2 speed (50KPH) exercises. Upon successful completion you can move on to Module 2, you can complete this test on either capacity machine but you must then complete Module 2 on same capacity (e.g. you cannot complete Module 1 on a 125cc and Module 2 on a 600cc machine).

125cc (small bike test): This is the only test that you are allowed to undertake if you are between 17 to 21 years of age. You can use your own or our bikes for this test and will allow you to ride any cc motorcycle upon completion subject to a power limit of 33 BHP. After a 2 year time limit has expired you can ride without restriction. You can still ride Motorways and carry pillions etc.

500cc (DAS/big bike test): For learners 21 years or over you can learn to ride a large capacity machine. We use 600cc machines when you are training with us. Upon completing this test you can ride any capacity machine without BHP restriction straight away. This is called the direct access option.
